  • Serial number disappears each time I log in.
  • Manufacturer's Picklist in Parts List Scrolling Issue

Question: Serial number disappears each time I log in.

I input the serial number, and the demo banner disappears, but the next time I log in the serial number disappears and I have to reenter it.

    Solution:

Your problem is network and permissions related. When you work on a folder that is write protected, you will seem to enter data and serial numbers, and everything will work OK. However you may notice warnings that fields are not modifyable.

When you exit, all data stored in memory is lost and not written to the drive, so the next time you log in, all data including the serial number disappeared.

The solution is to contact your network administrator. Sometimes, you may be working on a computer whereby either the administrator or another user installed the programming. This may prevent you from writing to those protected folders. You will see the folders, but they are assigned to the original user. You should log into Windows using the original user's password (the person who installed the program.)

If you are on a network, only the network administrator can assign you write access.

This is a network and Windows issue. You must make sure your folder has write access. Please contact your Windows expert or network administrator.

Question: Manufacturer's Picklist in Parts List Scrolling Issue
    Lidia,
After changing my screen in all ways possible I cannot veiw the triangle that I see on the help screen please advise on my next step

    [--- UPDATED: 3/16/2006 7:22:57 AM ---]

In the Parts List (parts.usr) I click on Manufactuer field to display a list of manufacturers.  I get a "giant list" that can't be scrolled?

    Solution:

[--- UPDATED: 3/24/2006 9:06:33 PM BY AGENT: Lidia LoPinto ---]

The screen shot shows the window you have described.  Note there is a small triangle.

When the top reads A, the triangle is on the bottom to allow you to scroll down.

When you reach the XYZ the triangle appears on the top.  The window is always large even of your parts.usr file is resized.  The window will take up the entire screen.

Check the adjustment of your computer screen if you can't see the triangle.

If you still have an issue, please respond to this help topic.
